Belek Transfer
Since Belek has been a region with a dense human population for many years, its diversity is limited to species that can adapt to human life and small areas. It is known that nearly 200 vertebrate species live in this region. Among these species, 38 mammals, 88 birds, 31 reptiles, 5 amphibians, 38 fish and 51 notable invertebrate species are listed. Creatures such as foxes, ferrets, squirrels and hedgehogs are frequently seen in the Belek coastal region. Many birds winter and breed in Belek, which is one of the best regions in terms of bird watching. In addition, rare reptiles such as chameleons, sea turtles, land turtles and freshwater turtles live freely in Belek's natural habitats.
Two of the 5 different sea turtle species living in the Mediterranean, Caretta caretta (very large sea turtle native to the Atlantic Ocean) and Chelonia mydas (green turtle), use 17 regions of Antalya coast as egg-laying beaches. Belek, Kaş, Manavgat, Tekirova, Çıralı, Olympos, Adrasan, Kumluca, Kale (Demre) beaches are also primary sea turtle spawning grounds.
